چکیده
Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) involves mainly the medial tibiofemoral joint of knee as stresses weight bearing involve condyle tibia: thus, this is primary site for OA. The work aimed to evaluating results proximal fibular osteotomy alone or conducted with arthroscopic lavage and debridement treatment unicompartmental osteoarthritis in elderly patients.
Methods: This study was carried out on 37 cases pain compartment varying degrees genu varum. Patients grouped randomly into two matched groups regarding age, sex, BMI degree osteoarthritis. Group 1 (n=18) had undergone group 2 (n=19) lavage.
Results: mean VAS sub scores improved (A) (B) postoperatively than preoperatively (p-value <0.0001). Comparing according (VAS) scores, it found that p-value <0.001 which statistically significant. ratio space significant.
Conclusions: PFO a convenient surgical option most developing countries like Egypt low medical financial resources. may delay even negate need total arthroplasty. be A viable alternative procedure osteoarthritis, especially patients who cannot undergo TKA because certain co morbidities. Care must taken avoid common peroneal nerve injuries. Knee helps decreasing improving function by washing crystals debris induce inflammation pain.

A Critical Review of Proximal Fibular Osteotomy for Knee Osteoarthritis
The surgical management of Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA), so far, mainly revolved around arthroscopic procedures, arthroplasty (total: TKA and unicompartmental: UKA) or high tibial osteotomy (HTO). Recently, another minimallyinvasive surgical treatment of proximal fibular osteotomy (PFO) has been proposed for the management of KOA. ThePFO has been found to be useful in the manageme...
